Studiogirl, great find with Peter Lewis' daughter's music. The Grape and Quicksilver continue to be sadly underrated. With the Grape it's probably worse because I never read anything about them that doesn't focus on non-musical issues. I was lucky enough to see them live in a club in 1974 (without Spence), and it remains one of my favorite shows. Jerry Miller is really overlooked when it comes to discussing guitarists.

Several new albums by some diverse artists-

Bonnie Raitt- Dig In Deep is another fine album by Bonnie. she does a number of originals and covers some nice tunes as well including an INXS tune. Hoping to see her live this Summer

Ray La Montagne- Ouroboros This one is a bit dense . I wasn't immediately thrilled by it as I've been with his previous output. It grows on you after a few spins, though.

M. Ward - More Rain this is another that has taken a few listens to gain my ear. I like his work with Zoey Deschanel (as She & Him ) as well. His earlier solo efforts have caught my ear more quickly.

Andrea Zonn- Rise If you've seen James Taylor live in the recent past you seen her as well. she's the fiddle player on his tour who also does background vocals. She has a great voice in the lead as well. Some good guests on this one as well.

Idlewheel - Live At Morningstar. We all know what to expect with this duo and this live cd does not disappoint. Tom Geddes helps out on drums. the only thing missing is Tom Hampton on other various instruments to make it better.

The pre-release bonus CD I got in the mail last week that went out to those who pre-ordered the new Sierra collection of Clark's unreleased studio songs. These are four demos, just Gene and his guitar in a studio. "The Virgin," "1975," " She's That Kind Of Girl" and "One In A Hundred" have never sounded so achingly beautiful.
