I use Firefox with vista and if I go in "sleep", it keeps my log in. If I shut down it goes away.
I must add that any of the other sites of which I'm a member behave in the same manner.
Shut down, lose you're log in.
And I do a cache dump on a regular basis for security reasons and so I'm used to logging in each time. To me, it's not a big deal.

Hi Russell:
I run a small forum for our fellowship. I specifically chose phpbb because Richie and Cruise Critic use it.

To all my fellow nuts, it really is a good system. If you are remotely curious about the trials of a board admin, go to http://www.phpbb.com/community/.

Maybe just putting the board back to the https:// will have it "stop asking". Wont you need the https for secure ordering some day?

Hi Folks,

I believe this problem is fixed now. Please let me know if symptoms persist.

Yeah, the rest of the site is still running https for that reason, but the boards were giving those annoying and slightly scary-looking "mixed-content" warnings because board users link to offsite images which aren't running on secure connections.

I agree that phpBB is a pretty nice system. I've looked more at the code than at the admin interface, but hopefully we're getting up to speed with the administration part too!

Thanks,
Russell

Great, I'm glad that fixed it.

You do have to "opt in" to stay logged on after closing the browser, and yes, if you clear cookies it will forget you again...
