A better book about Rick(I'm a big fan) is Teenage Idol, Travelin' Man: The complete biography of Rick Nelson by Philip Bashe. Joel Selvin's book is mean-spirited and is sold on digging up as much dirt on Rick as he could find and some of it is questionable. The Nelson family asked that no one buy it, not because they were trying to hide the not-so-nice side of Rick, but because of it's questionable content. Let me know how you like it when you finish. :)

When You are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris. I have read everything he has written. His stories always make me laugh out loud!

Just finished "The War for Late Night: When Leno Went Early and Television Went Crazy" Interesting story of what transpired with NBC, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brian.

Just started "Atlantis Found" by Clive Cussler

Funny you should mention Gormenghast. I'm just starting reading the 4th book in the Trilogy "Titus Awakes" - basically wirtten by Peake's Widow Maeve in the 1970s, and then 'lost' for 30 years.

Have just finished reading "This Is The Way To Amarillo" by George Miller. English guy travels around the states visiting places made famous in songs (e.g. Las Vegas, Wichita, Chattanooga). Very enjoyable.

Only downside, he visited New ORleans but didn't mention any Poco songs !

I can highly recommend anything written by Alan Furst. He writes historical espionage novels set in Europe between 1934 and 1942.

Think of Casablanca as a novel and you're pretty close to the style of his books.

Just started...Bobby Whitlock: A Rock and Roll Autobiography

I don't have any great expectations...the price was right on Kindle.
So far I have learned that Delaney Bramlett was a pretty big jerk....
With courage, strength, faith and hope we will face one day at a time.

My all time favorite poet, Phillip Levine, was named Poet Laureate-and they never name anybody that interests me-so I went back to read the book of his that first blew me away, The Names of The Lost, from back in 1976.
