Almost finished with The Liberator, another non-fiction WW2 book by Alex Kershaw. It follows Felix Sparks from his days as a Lt. in the 45th Division before the invasion of Sicily through his rise to a Colonel by war's end.

Kershaw is an engaging storyteller, insightful and entertaining at the same time. He has written a number of other WW2 non-fiction books that I am gonna check out because these first two were excellent reads.

mcdtj, agreed.Alex Kershaw is a great historian. I've read all of his books. Never a disappointment.

I'm now reading Trevor Noah's book Born A Crime.

Just finished "The Few," by Alex Kershaw, which is the story of the eight American pilots who joined the RAF in 1940 to fight the Nazis. This move cost them their US citizenship (restored by the Supreme Court in 1970). All but two were killed within the first year of service, and only one survived the war. They were an amazing group, and each also was an amazing person in his own right.

Next up: Robbie Robertson's autobiography. But I have to wait a week because this one is a Christmas gift.

Ed Ward's updated Michael Bloomfield bio. A brilliant, much-loved, many-facetted individual. I love this stuff.
