HA! I have an acoustic bass. The strings are wound with round wire. They wear the callouses off your fingers! Don't the electric basses use flat wound strings? Those gotta feel like butter next to the the acoustic style.

Hey Jeff..If you or Alex find a good way to record the Bass guitar through your
computer's ..Please let me know. I'm having a heck of a time trying to get a decent tone
outta what I'm using...Thanks!

Gregg, I think I'm getting pretty good tone plugging directly into my Firebox, then tweaking the EQ a bit in Garageband. I'm no bassist, so maybe its bad, but I like it!

Since I don't know what I'm doing, I make it as subtle as possible with very little on the high end. I used it in St.Guadelupe. Its actually hard to hear. When I had headphones on, it seemed more prominent.

"Holy Nostalgia Batman"...I'd forgotten about Acidplanet. Thanks! for the info Mark.
I forgot what a great song and great job you did on St. Guadelupe.
I'm no Bass player either but I "noodle" with it.
I just can't seem to get the "tone" I'm looking for but I'll try some different techniques perhaps into a processor and then into my computer.
Sounds like I'm gonna have to spend some more time and (oh yeah) some more money! Ouch!. Oh well.. Big boys need toys too I guess.
:o 8-) :D
