Never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it, I wonder why Buck never covered that song. He would have done it well, I am sure.

if i play the cd "a dozen roses" by desert rose band, those tunes lock into my mind. i go to sleep on them, wake up with them. it's like "ride the country" off firebird.
-
the old jimmym blues band stuff used to lock in my mind, but i have listened so much, for so long, it doesn't have the same kick it used to. although, "lean long lanky skanky woman" remains a blues classic. no one could write a blues riff or bluesy hooks like jimmym.
out in the great mojave, there's a city that i know
with a truckstop, a dairy queen, and a recording studio.

if you drive all night in the pale moonlight, this road will take you home.
oh ludlow, i'm comin' home to you.

Before I turned on my computer and read this (And I've only read a few of the first posts....) I had and have, "Call Me the Breeze" Skynyrd's live version. Only the first say, ten bars. Over and over.......

Uh, make that the first 12 bars......

Well said. Usually they are good tunes that get stuck, but every once in a while...

I think my dislike of the Buckaroos comes from my saturation as a child. The folks and their friends played them constantly, and of course I was a "rocker", none of that country @%$& for me! I guess I never got over it. Which makes it hard to explain why I love Yoakum! And other "country" stuff.

There's just no explaining some people's taste.

Well, I've definitely got that affliction...and what's worse, is sometimes I feel like I have endomusia (see end of Wiki article): Earworms should not be confused with endomusia, which is a serious affliction in which someone actually hears music that is not playing externally.

Maybe it's that radio in my brain? Or maybe just the tinnitus? Image

Tinnitus is why I have to fall asleep with headphones on when I'm at our place in Arizona...it's so quiet all I can hear is the ringing in my ears!! Well, in the fall, the occasional bellowing elk kinda breaks up the silence; and there's always a pack of coyotes to let me know dawn is not far off. But the critters don't make a lot of noise before the wee hours, so falling asleep can be difficult.

Rog...do you have a white noise machine? I use one at home and enjoy falling asleep to the sound of crickets. Other sounds are rain, waves, rain forest, and "summer night". Turn it on low and drift off....
