Well the music pours out on the street
Just as clean and cool as a cotton sheet

Country Rock, it's timeless
it's song will never ever age
Country Rock, it's in my bones
and they'll be singing along in my grave

great song from a much underrated album.

I concur. I have that gem on cd...stumbled on it about 2 years ago and can't remember where I found it. I also have 2 vinyls, because it could not be found on cd for the longest time.

Allow me to share this true story.

Several years ago Cathy's dad passed away. He lived in VA. We were down for the services and due to the number of family present, Cathy and I stayed at a nearby motel. The morning of the service I went out to pick up some coffee and breakfast for us while she showered. Sitting at the counter waiting for my order the song "Blue Skies" (Willie's version) just shows up, and I can't shake it. When I get back to the motel, the first thing I said to her was "guess what song is in my head?", and she answered "Blue Skies" immediately! She said the whole time she was in the shower that song kept playing. Unbelievable. Kharma? Divine intervention?
We will never forget that morning.

But AceinOC and I might just bring it out at the Hoedown next spring...

Yes that is one of two refrains I often have going through my head
"ting, ting, ting, te diidy ding, ting"

The other is "Your swaying Arms" by Deacon Blue
"doo, doo doo, doody doo"

I once wrote a song about this phenomenon "Wake Up Singing". I'll have to see if I can dig it out.

"Ride Captain Ride" is a frequent visitor to my mangled brain. It happened today. I love the song, so it really isn't bothersome. Last year I bought the CD just for that song...the rest ain't all that good. It purges when I listen to it, until another one takes it's place. I have bought several cds over the years just for a song or two, which really seems like a waste of money, but not always. I have 3 Dog Night, Guess Who and other compilations that certainly have other great tunes...but the initial purchase was spurred by one song in particular. Ex. "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature", "American Woman". You get the picture
