I think baseball fans 100 years ago were a lot more tolerant of changes than we give them credit for. Remember, this was a time when the outfield "fence" was determined by how far in the fans crept during the game; when Babe Ruth slugged an umpire and had to be led off the field by police; when Ty Cobb went into the stands and beat up a man with no hands; and when eleven home runs would get you the all-time record. Hate to reveal this basic truth, but here it is: Nothing is the same as it was and it never will be again.

I love the wild card, world series night games so I can go to work and watch and the DH...

I like the lowered mound and I'm not sure I could make it through a real double header without going into a coma

And I don't miss players batting without helmets and ear flaps and nothing but white guys on the field...

These are the good old days

What a last day of the season: a no-no in Miami vs. Detroit decided by a walk-off wild pitch, and the closeness of the AL Wild Card race. But Cleveland just beat Minnesota, so they will host the AL Wild Card Playoff game on Wednesday. Not yet clear at 5:08 pm EDT who their opponent will be.

Cardinals have home field advantage throughout the playoffs! Great season !

This wildcard crap has got to go, especially the one game play ins.
2 divisions in each league and the winners of both play to go to the World Series.
I know it will never happen because it doesn't generate the money.
At least the playoff system is still better than football, hockey or basketball.

Don't mind the wild cards, don't mind the divisional series, don't mind the 7-game LCS before a 7-game World Series. I like baseball, and the longer it stretches out, the happier I am. One sweet winter (1960) in San Diego a local station carried a weekly Cuban League game, and I was a happy boy every Saturday night. Keep them games comin'.

I like Buck and loved McCarver when he was younger.

Darling is real good too.

The Met guys as a team are great. It's too bad their team is awful.
