2016 A YEAR TO FORGET

Postby woogie » Fri Dec 16, 2016 1:36 pm

2016 has been a terrible year for me and my family.
First my daughter had a cancerous tumour removed from her head, she is waiting for the results of a scan to see if she is clear of any further cancer.

Next my son was made redundant from his job after 28 years of service and is still looking for employment.

Now to top it all my beautiful wife has been told she has myloma, cancer in the spine.
She is receiving chemo and radio therapy which will go on for about 8 months.
I am in a state of shock and have had my faith tested to the limit.
To all the old school Poconuts please pray for my family as you have done for us in the past, also anyone who can send positive vibes for us in the awful times we are going through at this time.

Thankyou all.

Woogster.

In a bit more than two weeks, you can put 2016 behind you. 2017 has to be better.

Woogie,

My prayer list is on my right. At our age a reminder helps. You are at the top. Sending good thoughts your way.

Hang in there Brother!

Rog,
Sorry to be so late getting my response to you. I just saw this. I haven't been spending much time on line lately.
You know you and Eileen can count on me to include all of you in my prayers and thoughts. Sometimes it does seem that things have a way of piling up on ya.
As I think it was Tim that said 2016 is almost over and 2017 is just around the corner hopefully bringing better news and health.
Let us know the results of Carmen's scans when you find out. I will be thinking and praying for her.
Also, as tough as it can be you need to stay strong for Eileen. It will help for her to see you being the tough S.O.B that we know that you are mate. Your love for her will do wonders to make her journey easier to navigate.
So, be strong my friend. Know that you have friends who care and are pulling for things to drastically improve as we move forward.
I'll try and check in more often but feel free to drop me an email whenever you want. you should still have my address.

Kev
With courage, strength, faith and hope we will face one day at a time.

So pleased to hear from you Dave and Kev and many thanks for your support.
I thought perhaps you had all gone over to FB and I don't go there.
Carmen should get the results this Friday so everything is crossed in this house.
Eileen is going through a tough time, the drugs make her so tired and the frequent visits to the hospital take a toll on top of it all.
The good thing is she is a tough old bird and will fight this all the way.I don't know how she has got through the last 5 years with all the health problems she's had.
Me I'm ok I've just got arthritis in my knee so can't complain, although I do all the time,
even using a walking stick now, getting old aint fer sissies.
Once again many thanks guys, and when I get time Kev I will send you an Email.

So sorry for you. I've been praying for your family all the way through. I think about you often even though I have not corresponded with you. We'll pray that 2017 is better than 2016 and that you all return to health.
