I reckon I know but am asking the question anyway, where are Dar, MsUP. poor Doug.

SG drops by here now and then, but she spends more time on Facebook.

Haven't heard from Doug in a few years. He brought a delicious home-cured corned beef to a hoedown (maybe IX or X) that was held on St. Patrick's Day. Best corned beef EVER!!

Hate to see this site pushed to the margin by Facebook, but it seems to be the way we're going.

I too miss the time prior to facebook....not a fan of it and won't be. Don't understand why more can't be done here, as well as there..........keep hoping for it, but I don't think it will happen. Sorry to be negative but all things change but not always for the better.

Simply put there is only so much time in a day to interact on the internet. FB makes it easier to keep in touch with people you know / met from various sources so many tend to concentrate on FB and just visit places like this occasionally.

I come here a few times a week but don't often post or get engaged in a conversation because they often are not things I'm interested in or have discussed a number of times before.

I understand the aversion some have for FB but unfortunately life goes on and the majority of individuals have decided to make that their main internet presence. You can hope it will change but I fear it will not at any time soon unless FB gets majorly hacked and damaged for people or the next "new" and "improved" platform arrives to replace it but that still won't bring the droves of people back to this site.

It ain't pretty but I think it's a pretty accurate description of reality.

I'm still here !!

Looked at this site for the first time in a few months - there does seem to be a lot going on.

IMHO Facebook is a huge time-waster. I spend most of my time deleting the utter rubbish that other people post !

Poco on Facebook

I use Facebook to see schedules and profiles of local bands I see. And get details on events like festivals. They either don't have a web page or don't update it. That's about it.

Almost all of the "friends" I have on Facebook I have put on "ignore". Mostly because I'm not interested in most of what they post, or am disgusted by the political venom since Trump was elected, or I'm just tired of seeing yet another photo of their face.

FACEbook is right. It's a good place for people that like to promote themselves, "look-at-me". How many times do I need to see your face obliterating the view of where you are or the event you're at? And the patronizing posts of their sycophants.

I like topical forums like this and its format and search feature. A place where you choose what you want to read and comment on. I know Facebook has "groups" that are topical. Today I looked at "Poco Rusty Young" and "Poco" on Facebook. A lot of the posts are similar to what was talked about here many years ago, like when and where did you see Poco, what are your favorite Poco albums, the personnel history of Poco, etc. I think most of the people posting there weren't ambitious enough to find this forum when it got going or aren't as big a fans as the people that did. When forums like this started I looked for one for every band I like.

I suppose the advent of Facebook is a factor in less activity here, but I think it's more that topics like above have been covered and Poco is less active.

I check this forum once or twice a week. On this website, I feel the topics and discussion should be primarily about Poco...or at least somehow related. However, on Facebook, I can read and post about anything no matter what it's related to (or if it's related to anything).

I find Facebook to be a great way to keep tabs on friends and acquaintances who are not nearby. I love seeing and sharing photos of families, friends, events, activities...things that create more of a bond with whichever friend is posting or reading my posts. Facebook is a useful tool...and that's what I think is important part: as with any tool, learning how and when to use it properly is the trick. I can waste time on ANY website!! In fact, I'm pretty good at wasting time even without a computer!

There will never be another like him. I am like my sis, Carolyn, I'm good at wasting time and I like facebook. I like posting songs that move me in the hopes that someone else will enjoy them. But this place here, this is family.
