I doubt that he will for these shows, but Gill is certainly capable of learning and playing Don Felder's guitar parts. Then Henley wouldn't need Steuart Smith. I was a little surprised that Gill needed a cheat sheet to sing Peaceful Easy Feeling at a Frey tribute last year. That song's been a camp fire sing-along for 45 years.

Read the Rolling Stone article. It looks like Smith and Frey are replaced by Gill and Frey's son, so I guess Gill will do Felder's parts. Gill said that he’ll be singing Lyin’ Eyes, New Kid in Town, Take It To The Limit and Heartache Tonight, and would be "the first on the bus" for a tour.

Quite the "Classic West" shows at Dodger Stadium last weekend with the Eagles, Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers on Saturday. Fleetwood Mac, Journey, and Earth Wind Fire on Sunday.
I wasn't there. Watched a few Eagles songs at YT. Smith is in the band. Doesn't look like Gill did any lead guitar work. They dropped Take It To The Limit a step and a half (A instead of C) from where Randy Meisner sang it.
Deacon Frey sings pretty good. Bob Seger sang Heartache Tonight. They did a rare performance of The Last Resort, including with a string section. It's the only Classic West video that I noticed is "forbidden by copyright."

Eagles Setlist:
1. “Seven Bridges Road”
2. “Take it Easy” (Deacon Frey on lead vocals)
3. “One of These Nights”
4. “Take It to the Limit” (Vince Gill on lead vocals)
5. “Tequila Sunrise” (Vince Gill on lead vocals)
6. “Witchy Woman”
7. “I Can’t Tell You Why”
8. “Lyin’ Eyes” (Vince Gill on lead vocals)
9. “Those Shoes”
10. “Peaceful Easy Feeling” (Deacon Frey on lead vocals)
11. “Best of My Love”
12. “Love Will Keep Us Alive”
13. “New Kid in Town” (Vince Gill on lead vocals)
14. “The Last Resort”
15. “Already Gone” (Deacon Frey on lead vocals)
16. “In the City”
17. “Heartache Tonight” (with Bob Seger)

19. “Funk #49″
20. “Life in the Fast Lane”
Encore:
21. “Hotel California”
22. “Rocky Mountain Way”
23. “Desperado”

Watched a number of youtube videos of the concert and WOW, Vince Gill sounded like he had been there forever. The future looks bright if the Eagles want to take off once again.
