Just came across this interview recorded prior to the Pompano show.

I can't imagine how many of these interviews Rusty has done in 50 years. Nonetheless, he is very gracious to an interviewer who seems to be going through the motions of an interview. At the end, he tells Rusty to "take it easy." <smile>

Rusty mentioned a snapshot from his book about Joe Walsh giving Richie guitar lessons backstage. I don't recall ever hearing that.

The gist of the story is that Richie was impressed by Joe's playing and asked Joe if he would give Richie a lesson after a show. Joe came to Richie's hotel room with a bit of a buzz on, ripped off a fiery solo and said something like, "Any questions?"
