It was 44 years ago today...
Posted: Sat Jan 06, 2018 2:31 am44 years ago, on 1-5-73, Springsteen released his debut album "Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.". Can still remember where I was the evening I first listened to it with 2 other friends. Our reaction was unanimous, this guy was special.
Had first heard about Springsteen a year earlier. A girlfriend of a fraternity member was from the Jersey shore area and always raved about how good he was. She alerted us to his upcoming first album release and while no one really believed her glowing descriptions could be true, we drove into Boston to pick up the album the day it was released. Been a fan ever since.
