I have been listening to this CD quite a bit lately, and I have really grown to like it more and more.
The whole album is a tribute to Paul's guitar playing. He really rocked on some former acoustic songs, like Angel, Ride The Country, and even High and Dry. His guitar playing is superb.
I also listen a lot to Tim's bass playing, and this CD emphasizes his outstanding bass if you listen closely to the songs.
I think this was the Fab 4 at its best. I know many considered this kind of a "throw away" CD as it was issued by Poco's former label after the left for another. But I think it is a fine example of the band's tightness and musicianship.
I have always been a huge fan of Paul. It seems that when he is performing songs written by say Rusty, his guitar work shows through more than even on songs Paul wrote. He is spot on with his acoustic guitar on Rocky Mountain Breakdown and electric on High and Dry on this CD. Paul's songs typically were more chord oriented.
Any other thoughts on this CD?
