It's official...Hoedown XIV is scheduled for March 22-25 at Palm Canyon Resort, Borrego Springs, CA.

I guess by now everybody knows the drill... Make your reservations (local: 760-767-5341, toll-free: 800-242-0044), pack your gear, head to the desert.

Rather than taking up bandwidth here, if you have questions/need more info, email me at crcstudiogirl@gmail.com.

This will be my 13th consecutive trip to hoedown. It is always a good time. After the music-making this year, Candy and I will spend 3-4 days golfing with Ohio friends who have a condo in Carlsbad.

Hope to see a lot of familiar faces, and some new ones, in Borrego Springs.

Bumping this up...just in case somebody hasn't seen it and hoping that some folks who've never made it or haven't come for a few years will join us.

Also, I find I can no longer commit to something a year in advance, so keep that in mind if you think you'd like to come to a hoedown sometime..."this could be the last time." I won't know until the end of the year if I'm going to do it again. I'd like to...but we all know that a lot can happen between now and next year....

Bumping up because there may be some who have not seen this...and maybe some new members drifting over from Facebook. And if so, message me if you want to know more. This is a get-together for the purpose of playing, singing and socializing with musically like-minded folks.

Just about a month to go before we make the drive down the mountain into Borrego Springs.
We're looking forward to being with "the pickers" (and drummers and keyboarders) and "grinners" (and hikers and bikers and puzzlers and pool loungers) again.

I know SG and Bogeyfire will be there, the always genial JimmyM and the ever-gracious and delightful Wendy, too. Drummer Steve from NoCal is in. I guess Donna and Bill and MJ and her husband, maybe Thaler, maybe Drummer Gerry. But no Ace and Maril, no Mrs. Bogeyfire. Anybody else, SG?

Both Larrys - our Nashville cat and Cap'n Larry on lapsteel! Also, I think....the guitarist from Steve's band...Paul (as I recall his name). Several other "maybe's". No Marianne this year, probably no Shelly, but Deena is on board. A small group often allows for more music. No matter how many or how few, always lots of fun!

It'll be a good group, and a good time, for sure.

In addition to our hoedown standards, I've been playing:

My City Was Gone - Pretenders
My Woman from Tokyo - Deep Purple
She's Waiting - Eric Clapton
Mainline Florida - Eric Clapton
Hold on Loosely - 38 Special
Gonna Let the Rain - Rusty Young
Kansas City Southern - PPL/Gene Clark
Sins of Mexico -Heartsfield

They're all on youtube and many have online tabs. Hope some will make it to the hoedown playlist this year!!

Jerrye and I saw Thaler at the Poco / PPL show at Sycuan a couple of weeks ago. He said he is in for Hoedown.

Tim, you mentioned this. Haven't tried this one for about a year. It's fun, though! You play it in D?

Tim, are you bringing electric again?

I can bring my Les Paul and Orange amp. I don't intend to play it. I haven't touched it since last hoedown when I merely noodled a bit.

Mark, I play "Kansas City Southern" in E. But we can do it in D if that's a better key for your lead vocal (hint hint).

Carolyn was gonna rent me a guitar, but I will gladly play your Gibson instead of the rental. Thank you so much!!!
