Steve Cash and Other 2019 Musician RIPs

Postby Jiff » Tue Oct 22, 2019 6:12 pm

Sad news. One of my favorite bands. Quite the songwriter, harmonica player and author. Among many others, he co-wrote Jackie Blue, If You Wanna Get To Heaven and It'll Shine When It Shines. Sole writer of the first song the band practiced: Chicken Train.

At Seattle Music & More, my thoughts on Cash and other musicians that have died in 2019:

I was digging through old photos last week and came across a few I took at a Bearmouth Montana 1998 outdoor concert. One is of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Also on the bill was Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Marshall Tucker and Elvin Bishop. I'm pretty sure Poco played there around that time.

Cool setting on the Clark Fork River with a lodge and its camp sites. Having lived in Washington, we were amazed that there was free range beer, no beer garden. We bought a 12 pack on the grounds and settled in on our lawn chairs. What a spread of discarded cans when the program was over. That night we partied and camped off the lodge property along the river.
