Wildwood Weekend – Poco in Steelville, MO

In case some of you missed this the first time it was in a reply to a post earlier, I am making it a new topic so maybe more can see/read it.

Tom Hampton sings and plays a Poco Tribute song he wrote during the Wildwood shows.
It's here :

Then he also writes about working as a "roadie" for the weekend shows on his blog. It's an excellent enjoyable read. It's here :

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, Thank you Tom, if you check in here.

America at Wildwood

Thanks. Clever use of Poco phrases for his lyric. Yeah, Hampton's report on the Wildwood weekend was a little "fatalistic". But interesting, and a much better (longer) setlist than Salem, Oregon. I got farther into his other articles but the white print on black background did me in.

Speaking of Wildwood concerts, I watched an excellent Big Interview with Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell today. It got me doing some digging for Dan Peek tidbits. I had read his American Band book several years ago, and today I found an interview with parts that were left out. After Grand Cayman, Peek lived in Missouri, and one involved an attempt by Rusty to reunite the three at an America concert at Wildwood. Interview link:

After twelve years there, Peek left Grand Cayman in 2002. Beckley and Bunnell recorded a live album there in April of 2002. Coincidence? I wonder if Peek was still there and if the date and place had anything to do with him.

I see that Rusty plays on Beckley's newest solo album, Five Mile Road, released in September.
