Jerry Jeff Walker (Ronald Clyde Crosby) - 78. Throat cancer. Singer-writer guitarist. A happy outlaw Texas folk and country singer-writer guitarist. Best known as the writer of Mr Bojangles, a hit for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Not a huge fan, I put him in the Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen class of folk rockers.
Along with several Poconuts, I saw him and his band at Stagecoach in 2009. We were primarily there for the Poco reunion.
