Village Records- a great place to find some hard to find music is starting a new online community.

I thought some here might be interested in this info.

Here's a link to the home page to check it out and sign up.-

Thanks, Dennis. Looks like a great spot for unusual, and usual music.

Thanks !

I also heard last night on the news that vinyl is making a comeback..now 60% of sales at certain shops as opposed to CDs...there is even a company in Brooklyn that presses LPs and is doing very well.

This is an interesting development, and so is what some people are doing with the vinyl.
Instead of playing the vinyl repeatedly, they are ripping the discs into lossless music files so they can play them on computers and mp3 players and then retiring the vinyl to a shelf.
Of course, to go to these lengths, one must be convinced that vinyl sounds different or even better than digital music, a thing not everyone agrees on.

I've bought a number of cds from here. They have some exclusives but most are just a bit out of the ordinary.

I've used the monthly newsletter to search for things and then go to other music sale sites for a better deal if possible.

I'm cheap.

I've been buying from them for years. Tom Russell's CD's are usually available there before anywhere else. They promote their stuff really well if you sign up for their newsletters. I've bought stuff I never would have known about if not for that. Not a place for cheap cd's but they only carry stuff worth listening too and the harder to find stuff is their specialty.
