Changing Horses

I don't know if this has ever been discussed on this forum, but what do Poconuts thing of Paul Cotton's 1990 CD, Changing Horses?

I was on Youtube the other day and listed to 5-6 of the songs. A couple of good rockers, plus other good tunes. But the whole CD doesn't hold up well considering where music and production were at that time.

Please share opinions.

I love Changing Horses, a CD that, to this day, I enjoy taking on road trips -- a great beat for the highways.

Sure, the music is slick with substantial production, but it reflects the time well -- 1990 was one of the last years before grunge & alternative music really infiltrated.

Paul has recorded an all-solo-acoustic album, a couple of roots-rock-sounding albums, and a nautical-theme album. A synth-heavy, studio musician-heavy, CD such as Changing Horses makes his collection diverse in a likeable way.

The arrangements suited his vocal range well on the disc's 10 tracks.

I enjoy this CD, but different styles suit different tastes of course.
