We're Losing Our Icons

Postby Denbo » Mon Jan 13, 2020 2:49 pm

Neal Peart Of Rush passed away last weekend.

We have also recently lost Tom Petty, Ric Okasek from The Cars, Ginger Baker, Peter Tork of The Monkees, Ed King of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eddie Money, Larry Junstrom of 38 Special. I'm sure I missed a few, but these individuals were big losses for me.

Any others that you can share that were important to you?

A couple that I really liked that passed in 2019, that you didn't list: Iain Sutherland of The SB&Quiver and Russell Smith of The Amazing Rhythm Aces.

As linked before, my thoughts and exhaustive lists of musicians that died in 2017, 2018 and 2019 at Seattle Music & More:

Also saddened to hear John Starling of Seldom Scene passed away in 2019, had two great solo albums in the early eighties Waitin On A Southern Train and Long Time Gone.
Well the music pours out on the street
Just as clean and cool as a cotton sheet

Country Rock, it's timeless
it's song will never ever age
Country Rock, it's in my bones
and they'll be singing along in my grave
