Discuss the band.

I was working on On The Way Home when I started doodling with You Better Think Twice. I had long ago given up trying to learn it because there is a youtube of Jimmy Messina explaining how to play it and it's way too complicated and over my head-involves finger picking techniques and open tunings that I'll never learn. Suddenly I found that elusive first chord and the rest fell together. It ain't perfect but I had a blast playing it. No overdubs, just me and the guitar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2P2lI4tcAY

Alex, that is way cool! When I saw You Better Think Twice on the thread title, I had to look twice, because I thought you were were working on On the Way Home.
I guess you don't need the open tuning to get the gist of the song. I am very impressed that you figured it out so completely. Great job! I can't wait to try and play this with you. You can do the fancy stuff, and I will chunk along with the rhythm chords. Good singing too. Where's Dan? We need that siren pedal steel riff.
Let your thoughts be kind...Have a little peace of mind.

Great job, Alex! When I have my "lesson" today, I'll see if Dan (my teacher) will help me figure out how to add bass to the track. If we can do it in an hour.... If it comes together, I'll upload it and post a link.

Thanks for all the kind words. I've only been playing this for two days but I was like a kid at Christmas playing with his new toy. I have had so little time to play this past week but I found myself alone in the house on Monday and this song just showed up. I'm still working it out and I may post another version.
I'm ready to do On The Way home also but I think I'll wait until next month for that. That's also a very cool song.

Oh gee. Thanks a lot, Alex! Now I'm all jealous and everything. I've been gently crooning away on my "Kind Woman" and "Magnolia", and you have to go out ripping up the fretboard! Nicely done. I may have to put that one on my "to do list". (If I have the chops.) I'm feeling the need for speed, and that might just be the ticket! Well played, Old Man! And Bev, A capella of You better think twice? That would be fun! So, in the words of Frasier Crane, "I'm listening".

Very Cool Alex!.. I always enjoy your versions of Poco tunes on this project and look forward to more. I know what you mean about finding time to record and post new stuff as I have been busy with getting all my kidz back in the "school mode" as well as all the football practices, karate classes ( for the kidz not me) . Geez! I gotta find that "alone time" myself so I can hopefully post a new one. In the meantime .."Keep on Rockin' my friend!"
