I have a choice of 3 shows to go to tonight. Warm up bands start appoximately 6pm.

1. The Good Rats & Average White Band...Party in the Park Rochester Ny downtown.

2. Los Lonely Boys...Party in the Park Buffalo Ny downtown (75 mile drive).(I go often)

3. Cross Canadian Ragweed..Highland Park, Rochester Ny...The Big Blues & Rib Festival.

I'm going to see Cross Canadian Ragweed. All shows outdoors with no rain in the forecast with daytime temps 75.

AWB is an absoulute treat, so long as the guitar player (Onnie McIntyre?) is there. I would go a long way to see them (not quite as far as I would for Poco). Just be sure that the venue is a good one to dance. Hard to sit down to AWB.

Well I wouldn't go to any of them personally.

I am going to the Black Potatoe Festival to see Cheryl Wheeler and Lucy Kaplansky tonight, though. It's not my mispelling- it's the way they spell it.

I remember The Good Rats as a really fine bar band making the rounds thru NJ, 28 years ago!

I picked the right concert for me last night. Cross Canadian Ragweed concert was great. Perfect night outside last night and the band just rocked out. A t-shirt I saw described the music of CC Ragweed best saying "It smells like country but tastes like rock n roll". They are currently on tour with Skynyrd and Kid Rock. They open up with a 25 minute set so they welcomed last night to rock out a full show.

The surprise of the evening was an opening band called The Homemade Jamz Blues Band hailing from Tupelo, MS. The ages are 17,15,11 with dad playing harp on some songs. Two brothers playing guitar and bass and 11y.o. sister just pounding the skins. They play custom guitars made to look like mufflers and they are all chromed out. What a surprised! I never once thought I was watching/listening to a kids act. They played great and sounded years ahead of their ages.

Support these "free" shows by buying merchandise and visiting the food and beverage vendors. Thank you Mr. Molson and Mr Labatts last night.
