New Riders Of The Purple Sage's pedal steeler Buddy Cage died February 4th, another one gone.

Also a member ( briefly ) of Ian & Sylvia's Great Speckled Bird. His steel playing on their country rock album of the same name is spectacular imo.

Sad news. Saw him once with the New Riders, at a Concert On The Green at Oakland Alameda Stadium with Commander Cody, Grateful Dead and Beach Boys in 1974:
